Best of Edinburgh 2010 (Part 2)

O Hai!

Its Saturday. For once, I ain't working! Thought I'd spend some time to work on my blog.

I'm back with more Edinburgh!!!

Outside the apartment, looking like a total nutcrack.

Why do I make faces. I sure hope the wind doesn't change direction

Looking at all the pictures, I miss travelling like crazy!!!!!! I wanna hop on a plane and jet off... anywhere... ANYWHERE AT ALL.

OKla, I sorta wanna go Adelaide. It's dead town, but I wanna go there for obvious reasons so lets not talk about that.

:(

The Abbey ruins at the Palace of the Holyrood House.

Nothing short of spectacular.

It's amazing how this was built by hands.

One of the best ways to travel around Edinburgh is by foot, because most of the attractions are walking distances away.

Plus, the places is so pretty, its hardly an effort to walk.

And it's funny I'm saying this because in Malaysia, I'm the last to opt to walk anywhere. Ppl call me fat legs for this reason.

For those that prefer easy travelling, you can opt to buy the hop-on-hop-off tickets that will take you to all major attractions in and around Edinburgh.

And the top attraction on my list was undoubtedly the Edinburgh Castle.

Built on a cliff, it's one of Europe's most spectacular looking castle. I wanna get married there. Boyfriend, if you're reading this... take note.

It's so prominent its hard to miss. You can virtually see it from anywhere in the centre of the city. And its so pretty. Albeit its dark and gothic-looking, but still.... PRETTY!

Entrance

Can you take a moment to imagine the castle draped and decorated with white and lilac silk cloth... red rose petals scattered all over the floor... a live band playing cheerful scottish highland music... cute scottish men wearing skirts... I mean, kilt, and walking around serving guests free flow of premium scottish whisky...

Suddenly, horns start to blow, and the bell chimes can be heard from the castle's cathedral... People look towards the grand gates of the castle...

And enter me... in a white and GOLD horse-drawn carriage... looking beautiful and glowing with happiness, while wearing 1 of my 50 one-of-a-kind designer wedding gown by Vera Wang...

And on my head, a crown so full of diamonds... so blinding, my guests were adviced not to look directly at it....

.... Something's missing.

Oh wait I forgot to mention my groom.

He comes a-galloping on a white stallion... the finest breed in whole of the United Kingdom... He stops by the side of my carriage. He lends me his macho hands as I step out.

With his strong, muscular arms, he whisked me off my feet and kissed me with full, passionate force.

Then, the crowd went erratic and cheered wildly, throwing confetti of UK Pounds in the air, courtesy of the Bank of Scotland. wtf.

This is madness.

Entering the castle

Awesome weather that day :)

Pretty view of the city

THIS is Scotland, everybody

Dreaming of my (extremely) elaborated dream wedding

You can see the peak Arthur's Seat. No it's not the chair of the famous Guinness founder. I'm talking about the extinct volcano.

Great view

Oooh~~, I spy with my little eye a cute Scottish

The Mons Meg Canon (posterior view)

In one of the cells used to detain soldiers who misbehaved while on duty.

Hahahaha

Inside one of the castle's squares

Pretty nice cemetery for the soldier's dogs

I nearly fell down these stairs. *Pai seh*

The path leading to the Edinburgh Castle. Not very grand is it? Must make plans for major refurbishments in view of my grand wedding.

That'll be all for the city of Edinburgh. Next up in Part 3, I'll be visiting the HIGHLANDS of Scotland! :D

Stay tuned.

I'm off to sleep my lazy Saturday away~~~
