Wooo-to-the-Hooo!

Guess what!! Ah Moi is leaving for Siem Reap (Cambodia) for one week this coming Saturday!!

Initial plan was to spend another week or so at Ho Chi Minh then to Hanoi. But seeing how mother nature is going through some serious menopausal symptoms recently, we decided to cut the trip short... *momentary depression*

Anyhow, I'm still psyched! I NEVER get sick of the feeling when I need to wake up real early to jet off to a holiday. WHO EVER GETS SICK OF THAT??? Anyway, I'm really thankful that I at least don't have to forgo the WHOLE trip.

You know what else I'm thankful for?

THANK GOD period habis on time. The last thing I need when I'm sightseeing is pad bangang.

*Smooches* to Ah Moi's readers

I ciao first,

Ah Moi

RAW is the new BLACK.

Today we received the keys to one of the houses that we purchased. Actually, its not really a house. It's more of a half-built structure that got abandoned because the previous investor partners suddenly became bitter enemies over some unresolved issues.

BAD for them, GOOD for us.

THIS, btw, is going to be our future house. So renovation works will resume in a few months time, which will take another few more months before completion, so we're looking to move in around late October or early November (mark your calendars because Ah Moi would like to invite her Ah Lians and Ah Bengs over for house warming).

I have to admit, being in an abandoned structure gives me the goosebumps cuz its so eerie. I also saw a lot of shit/tahi/si/sai everywhere, and whether it originated from an animal's ass or a human's... I choose not to know lo because later I'm going to the pasar malam to eat yau char kuey and the shapes hold some resemblance. I just wanna enjoy my yau char kuey.

Despite the eerieness... I think its an awesome playground for photography enthusiasts. Too bad my mum didn't wanna be my model (not that I asked, she just told me before I asked her. Perasan.).

Creepy crawly plants have already started to grow.

"Stairway to heaven"

Part of my future room :)

Entry into my future walk-in-closet & bathroom.

Ah Moi says HI :)

"Your love is a light unto my path"

I would like to curi and keep this cute lamp thingy. Wait. Stealing is frowned upon if done behind someone's back. So I'm PUBLICLY declaring that I'm taking it.

The basement... my future entertainment area.

Electric box dangling precariously.

Ah Moi's failed attempt at trying to be artsy fartsy.

Irrelevant picture. But then, MY BLOG WAT!!! That makes my face totally relevant.

Besi berkarat.

Favorite shot of the day. Don't lie I know you like it too.

Er. Bricks.

Who wants? I bet its not smelly anymore because no one has worn it for months. Might have mushrooms growing inside though. Didn't dare look.

Whoever wants an INSTANT TAN can just go touch that box (more effective with wet hands).

"...and He will guide me every step of the way"

Save the trees. Use abandoned wooden planks.

Tiny balcony ledge from dining room.

Ceiling beam, that I can ALMOST touch. Who said I stopped growing?

Part of Masterbedroom's walk-in-closet.
Anyway, we have employed a professional architect and designer team. So I hope they'll do a good job. Today I told them I wanted my room to be all GOTHIC and MYSTERIOUS. 5 minutes later, I called them back and said "better not. I'll be afraid to sleep in my own room".

Then they laughed at me.

Minus one brownie point.

I ciao first,
Ah Moi

April Fool is Full of Fools waiting to Fool other Fools.

Can you try saying the title real fast in a FILIPINO accent?

"April Pool is Pull of Pools waiting to Pool other Pools"

Hahahahahaha! I am so funneh.

But yeah, it's April Fool! And everyone seems to be employing the same prank on Facebook. Suddenly everyone seems to be "in a relationship" and some are suddenly "engaged" and a handful are "married" overnight.

Maybe I should do the same. But not on facebook. I'll call my dad later and tell him I'm pregnant. And when he asks "WHO'S THE FATHER????"... I'll say "I'M NOT SURE".

Kua kua kua kua-ua-ua-ua.

***

Recently I started an album on Facebook that reads "Those were the days"... Reason being, I found a stack of my childhood photos the other day while cleaning my room and not wanting to lose them (in case I ever do), I scanned them and showed them to the world how cute I was (and still am *defensive*).

Standard One!! I'm the small tiny being standing far right in second row. I gotta admit, I looked pretty much like a four-eyed ugly duckling. No wonder I always got bullied back then :(
I think this was when I was 7 or 8 years old, during prize giving day. I was in the Top 5 I think (yea, I'm smart wan despite looking otherwise -__-). The girl next to me is Joyce. She was number 1. Uiseh *intimidated*.
THIS is 11-year old me. It's the last day of school when our teachers will allow us to bring our cameras to school. My first camera was a Konica Minolta. Don't mess!
The 12-year old me is furthest on the left wearing a blue prefect uniform. I was a teacher's pet. I got elected EVENTHOUGH when the teacher asked "Why do you wanna be a prefer?", I answered "Because I like the uniform".
I think we were 16 or 17 then. And all four of us were the top heads of the Unit Bimbingan Board. Ahhh, I feel this sense of PRIDE. Picture was taken in Bagan Lalang, Sepang where we organized the UBS training camp. I miss those times :(
Clubs & Societies photography day. This is the Swimming Club in which I was the Sexy-tary Secretary. Btw, in case you can't spot me (in which case, you may need corrective measures on your eyesight), I am the one sweet-smiling angel sitting on the far right.
This was during Prefect's Camp when I was 16 I think. This activity required us to build our own rafts out of bamboo sticks and rubber tyres. Can you imagine? A bunch of girls building our own rafts. Quite hilarious as I remembered it :D
Senior Prefectorial Board. I'm standing 3rd from right in 3rd row. I've been a prefect throughout my secondary schooling life. And I think rightfully so because every student need a spy in the prefectorial board. Hahahaha. Spot checks won't always work because me and my partners in crime (also prefects) will go around broadcasting spot checks and let students hide things in our lockers. We also steal confiscated items stored in the Prefect's room.
I'm sitting second from left. Believe it or not, I was President in Taekwondo Club. No idea why because when I punch you, you'll probably say "Scratch harder, very syiok".

I would like to think that throughout the years, I have grown and blossomed into an even finer looking young lady... but...

O__o
I still look as silly as ever.

I have decided to stop my salsa lessons for the time being because I just don't have the time to do it anymore (over-used excuse alert!).

And also, I have decided to learn ZOUK! I think this dance is super sexy but first I need my hair to be LONG so I can FLING it and FLIP it around! Now with my short hair I think I'll just end up looking like I'm possessed by an angry ghost.

I still LOVE salsa to bits though.

With Min from Brisbane if my memory didn't fail me) who came back for a holiday. REALLY good dancer.
Bachata with Jason Tan at the opening of Taipei Taipei Restaurant.
With Selvan @ Aliyaa's weekly Salsa  Nights on Wednesdays.
With Steven the Salsa King @ Paradiso's weekly Salsa Nights on Fridays.
With Andy-kin @ Aliyaa
Bachata with Wai Kong @ Shivz Grill's weekly Salsa Nights on Sundays (FYI, now on Mondays too!)
With Lion, a very talented instructor from Korea. At La Bomba's weekly Salsa Nights on Fridays.
With Andy @ Shivz Grill.
With Botak Jim, also at Shivz Grill.
With Jason @ La Bomba. It was Chinese New Year, hence the red-ness :)
With Jason @ Paradiso. Although cannot see my face in this picture, I still put up this picture because Jason looks hensem (excuse) and I look thin for once (real reason).
For those of you interested in trying out Salsa, or is curious about what Salsa is all about, come drop by one of these nights at selected venues around KL:

  • Mondays: Shivz Grill, Bangsar (Cover charge of RM10 inclusive of ONE non-alcoholic beverage)
  • Tuesdays: Salsa-less night for now
  • Wednesdays: Aliyaa Restaurant, Damansara Heights (No cover charge, but you should at least get one drink in support of them opening up the venue for social dancing)
  • Thursdays: Modesto, The Curve (No cover charge, but you should at least get one drink in support of them opening up the venue for social dancing) & Shivz Grill, Bangsar (Bachata & Zouk night)
  • Fridays: Paradiso, Jln Raja Chulan (Cover charge of RM10 inclusive of ONE non-alcoholic beverage) & La Bomba, Starhill (Cover charge of RM10 inclusive of ONE non-alcoholic beverage) & Bernard's Restaurant/Pub, Centrepoint BU (No cover charge, but you should at least get one drink in support of them opening up the venue for social dancing)
  • Saturdays: Modesto, CapSquare (No cover charge, but you should at least get one drink in support of them opening up the venue for social dancing)
  • Sundays: Shivz Grill, Bangsar
You should note that these restaurants open up their doors in support of salsa dancing. So I suppose it will be a nice courtesy if people at least buy a drink when they're there. Also, take note that salsa nights are usually after dining hours, which means they normally start around 10-ish till the cows come home.

And tonight, if you're interested, Ah Moi here will be salsa-ing away at La Bomba :) Come la. I promise I won't bite hard, just a bit.

I ciao first,
Ah Moi
